Wayne Z. King, of Guinea Road, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 in the loving care of his family.
Wayne was born 74 years ago on June 29, 1951 on the family farm in Breakabeen, to Olive LaVerne (Cleveland) and Ralph King. He grew up on the family farm and later enlisted in the United States Army, serving two years during Vietnam.
After his military service, Wayne went to work for Laborer's Local #157 in Schenectady and was an active member for over 50 years, attesting to his strong work ethic.
He enjoyed hunting and loved a good game of cards, especially if it was with his nieces and nephews, whom he adored.
Loving him forever are his sisters: Dorothy "Chickie" Ingraham of Breakabeen, Patricia Benkert of Kingston and Peggysue (Ernest) Brink of Durham; his brother: Mark (Susan) King of Breakabeen; his half-brother: Burdette "Judson" (Nancy) Gates of Watsonville; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, his sisters: Melody Desposito and Arleen King; his brothers: Charles King, Robert King and Ralph "Butch" King; his brothers-in-law: Robert Benkert and Bradley Ingraham and sister-in-law: Maryhelen "Mickey" King.
A visitation with Wayne's family will be from 10:00-11:00AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River street, Middleburgh, NY 12122. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, immediately following the visitation. Burial will be in the King Family Cemetery in Breakabeen.
