The Prattsville Scoop by Abby and Gabby
PRATTSVILLE – To spread out our reporting area, here is some news from Sandy and Larry Hill out in Missouri. They have been having a bit of physical ups and downs but Sandy insists they are doing fine. She said they have been through this in 1970, mostly her and getting older just makes her more out spoken. Both their sons said if they needed help, one or both can come. Larry has been in a rehabilitation center, but being Larry, he said “we don’t need them. If I need one of them I’ll call.” Sandy and Larry are both self sufficient and stubborn. “HA! HA!” adds Sandy. I asked them about Glenn and Linda Hill Bellomy. Linda is Larry’s sister. The Bellomys are settled in their new home in Texas, Glenn is originally from Texas. Due to physical conditions, they have their daughter Cheri do most of the driving. Linda says she is doing better and it is always comforting to have a younger family member around to give you assistance. Sandy writes, “Nobody talks any more. If you don’t have I Phone and walk around constantly texting you don’t know any thing. Nobody knows how to have a conversation. Well that’s all I have…..Will keep in touch.” So if you would like to send some special messages to the Hills to be included in The Scoop, send to gurleyrv@gmail.com or call 518 299 3219.
Welcome home to Stephen and Lisa Birnbaum of Knob Hill. They are jumping into the social scene in Prattsville without skipping a beat. They are hosting their annual Derby Party, giving their family and friends a time and place to reconnect for the season. Lisa will be visiting granddaugher Ella for her first birthday later on. Stephen will be busy with his duties at the Zadock Pratt Museum. He is working on a tribute for past and present military to be featured at the Pratt Museum.***See his notice

Thank you to our veterans and active military for your service. We also appreciate our medical professionals and volunteer firemen, EMS, all those who work in the service areas. Thank you.
Got to enjoy a conversation with Linda Jaeger. The good news is she has recovered from her health issues. She finally had medical help for them and the procedures were a success! Continued good health Linda. In fact she feels so healthy she did some neighborly cooking with her famous pepper steak and got Blue Ribbon praise. P.S. Linda also makes a spectacular lemon pie. Stay well Linda.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers go to Mary Cline and family on the death of her husband Ronnie, who died on April 22. Ronnie was a proud SeaBees veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Virgil E. Deyo Post 1327. Ron’s family goes back locally for generations, both on his mother’s and father’s sides. Ronnie grew the best potted basil, it was picture perfect as well as delicious in recipes. Going to miss him. Rest in peace Ronnie, you are loved.

Rob Gurley and Dad Bob Jr. helped out the matriarch of the Gurley family by doing some yard work. She thanked them with meatloaf sandwiches and her homemade dill pickles. No one wanted dessert, other than some Potica and candy. Thanks boys.
