New York City Resident Arrested for Alleged Forged Inspection Certificate
HAMDEN — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a New York resident for possessing a forged inspection certificate.
On Saturday afternoon, April 18th, while patrolling, Sheriff’s Deputies observed an unoccupied and disabled vehicle partially blocking the roadway on County Highway 26 in the Town of Hamden. Upon inspecting the vehicle, it was found the vehicle had a forged inspection certificate displayed in the wind shield
On Sunday afternoon, April 19th, 2026, Sheriff Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 71-year-old Peter Odin of New York City.
Deputies subsequently arrested Odin and issued him uniform traffic tickets for Displaying a Forged Inspection Certificate, an unclassified misdemeanor, as well as Parking on Pavement and Uninspected Motor Vehicle, all offenses of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Odin was released on appearance tickets and traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hamden Court at a later date to answer the charges.
