Around the Mountain with LJ James - Zoom Flume Water Park 2026 Season
It’s coming fast, folks—and if you miss this, you’re missing one of the best parts of summer in the Catskill Mountains. The Zoom Flume Water Park in East Durham, officially opens June 14, 2026, and let me tell you right now—this place isn’t just a water park… it’s a full-on summer experience.
Season passes are only $79.99 plus tax. Sounds like a deal, right? Let me put that into perspective.
Last summer, I grabbed season passes for me and my niece. First day there, we’re running from ride to ride, laughing like we don’t have a care in the world. In the middle of it all She stops, looks up at me, eyes wide, and says: “We can come here every day all summer long? This is like a dream!”
And she wasn’t wrong. Some days we stayed from open to close. Other days we just popped in for a quick two-hour blast of fun. Either way, we got WAY more than our money’s worth. And at 54, trying to keep up with an 8-year-old? That’s no joke. But by the end of the summer, I was right there with her—call it “Zoom Flume Aerobics.” LOL
This place has something for everyone:
The Lazy River for when you just want to kick back and float your worries away. When you are feeling a little more adventurous, My Favorite ride was The Rip Van Racer, and when you’re ready to throw down and race, let me know, I am taking all challengers this year! If you are showing up with the whole family then it's a must, you have to all pile into the giant raft, and brave the racing waters of the Wild River!
There is the Wave Pool that somehow never gets old, and its pretty easy to just spend the whole day there alone. The Black Vortex is there for when you want that heart-pounding drop, the giant lagoon activity pool is a great spot to relax and just watch your kids have fun. Another great area for the "Kids" is the wild west splash area, and there are just so many other different awesome activities for kids and adults alike. Even the food surprised me—in a good way, While it was Not cheap, the prices were not outrageous either. With your season pass, you get discounts on food, and merchandise in the gift shop.
Let me be very clear, this isn’t a paid plug. This is me telling you straight and honestly:
If you want a summer full of laughs, memories, and that kid-like feeling again… this is it.
So when you go—and you should—keep an eye out for me.
I’ll be the old guy, with his neice with the biggest smile in the park, yelling the loudest all the way down the slides.
Because let’s be honest… If you ain’t yelling, are you really having that much fun?

I’ll see you around the mountain.
