GRAND GORGE & STAMFORD — To address social isolation, strengthen community ties, and build resilience, WCCRC is launching a  Creative Studio to host activities such as arts and crafts, wellness, and digital literacy. The activities will  take place the second and the fourth Tuesday of the month at 2 pm, alternating between WCCRC  Community Room in Stamford and the Civic Center in Grand Gorge. Both locations are ADA accessible.  

The activities will kick off with a Wellness class led by Eileen Knott, Tuesday, April 14 at 2 pm at the  Grand Gorge Civic Center, followed by a workshop on Generative Artificial Intelligence led by Breck  Baldwin on April 28 at 2 pm at WCCRC Community Room in Stamford. On May 12 at 2 pm chef  Hannah Bradfield from T.P.’s Café will be teaching a Cooking Class featuring recipes for Memorable  Memorial Day Meals at WCCRC Community Room in Stamford. On May 26 at 2 pm WCCRC  Executive Director Antonia Besculides will be leading a Gardening Class at the Grand Gorge Civic  Center. Throughout the summer, a series of arts and crafts activities will be hosted at both locations. Tech meet-up groups will be formed based on interest. All activities are designed for individuals 18 and  older. 

WCCRC Community Room has been equipped with state-of-the-art technology funded by the MTC  Birdsall Project which enables us to lead cutting edge programs in a rural area that has been  underserved. Furthermore, WCCRC Creative Studio has received funding from the Laura Jane Musser  Fund to host community projects that foster collaboration and connectedness. These efforts will lead to a  higher quality of life for residents and increase community ties and resilience.
