Walton Man Arrested for Alleged Prison Contraband Promotion

DELHI — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Walton man on charges of Promoting Prison Contraband. 

On February 10th, 2026, Investigators with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division received a complaint regarding contraband from the Delaware County Correctional Facility. The information that was provided was that 48-year-old Luke J. Lupo, of Walton, New York, allegedly possessed contraband while he was incarcerated at the Delaware County Correctional Facility on pre-existing charges. 

On February 12th, 2026, at the conclusion of their investigation, Investigators arrested and charged Lupo with one count of Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor of the NYS Penal Law.   Lupo was subsequently arraigned on this charge at the Delaware County Central Arraignment Part (CAP) Court and was remanded back to the custody of the Delaware County Correctional Facility on the charges that led to his initial incarceration.
