Walton Man Arrested for Alleged DWI

WALTON — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Walton resident for driving while intoxicated.

On Sunday, February 1st, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on County Highway 21 in the Town of Walton. Upon arrival, Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 29-year-old, Logan Barnhart of Walton, NY. During the course of the investigation, Deputies observed that Barnhart appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Upon completion of the investigation, Deputies subsequently arrested and charged Barnhart with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving with a BAC of .08 of 1% or more, both misdemeanors of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. Additionally, Barnhart was issued traffic summonses for Speed not Reasonable and Prudent, Moved from Lane Unsafely, Failed to Keep Right and Possession of an Open Alcoholic Container within a Motor Vehicle, all violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Upon completion of arrest processing, Barnhart was released on appearance tickets and traffic summonses and was directed to appear in the Town of Walton Court at a later date to answer the charges.
