CATSKILL MOUNTAINS — As the temperature has warmed in recent weeks, the men and women of Delaware County Vintage Base Ball Association took to the field to begin their 2026 campaigns. On March 28, the Polecat Base Ball Club featuring the Hamden Nine travelled to Smithtown, NY for matches with the formidable Atlantic Base Ball Club - a team founded in Brooklyn in 1855.
And the Fleischmanns Mountain Athletic Club traveled to Fosterfield Farm Museum in Morristown, NJ for a spirited double-header with the Neshanock Base Ball Club of Flemington founded in 1866. On Saturday, May 2, the Bovina Dairymen will open at home in a doubleheader with the Brickmaker Base Ball Club of Saugerties. First pitch will be at 2pm and admission is free.
