Introduction to Iroquois Lecture - 2:00 PM

SCHOHARIE - The Old Stone Fort Museum Complex invites the public to attend a special educational program on Saturday, March 14, featuring a lecture by Mike Tarbell titled “An Introduction to the Iroquois.”

The presentation will begin at 2:00 PM and will be held in the Badgley Annex at the Old Stone Fort Museum Complex. During the lecture, Tarbell will explore who the Iroquois are, how the Haudenosaunee Confederacy came to be, and the important contributions Iroquois governance and culture made to the creation of the United States of America. The talk will offer an introduction to the history and legacy of the Iroquois people and their enduring influence.

This event is open to the public, with a suggested donation of $5 per person to support museum programming. The lecture is generously supported by the Old Stone Fort Museum Complex’s 2026 Lecture Sponsor, Fenimore Asset Management.

Pi(e) Day Beehive Oven Baking Demonstration - 3:30 PM

SCHOHARIE, NY - The Old Stone Fort Museum Complex invites the public to celebrate Pi(e) Day on Saturday, March 14, with a hands-on pie baking demonstration using the museum’s historic beehive oven.

Beginning at 3:30 PM, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to use the traditional beehive oven and make pies together in a relaxed, hands-on environment. This informal gathering will include time to socialize while the oven heats and the pies bake, offering visitors a chance to experience historic foodways in a fun and welcoming setting.

This community activity is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
