DELHI — Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the arrest of a local resident as the result of a traffic stop in the Village of Delhi.
On February 10th, while on patrol in the Village of Delhi, Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for having a suspended registration.
Upon attempting to identify the driver of the vehicle, the driver provided Deputies with a false name and date of birth.
Further investigation resulted in the discovery of the driver’s actual identity and a subsequent search of the vehicle utilizing K9 Dexter, led to the recovery of a quantity of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, scales and packaging materials.
As a result, Deputies arrested 43-year-old Adam Bright, of Delhi, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree – a narcotic drug with intent to sell and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree – methamphetamine with intent to sell, both classified as class B felonies of the NYS Penal Law.
Bright was additionally charged with 2 counts of Criminally using Drug Paraphernalia, Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree, False Personation, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 2nd degree, and Operating a Motor Vehicle while the Registration is Suspended, all misdemeanors. Bright was also issued traffic summonses for Unlicensed Operator and Unregistered Motor Vehicle, both violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Deputies transported Adam Bright to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office for processing, where upon completion, he was turned over to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to be held pending Centralized Arraignment Processing.
Deputies were assisted on scene by the Delhi Police Department.
