SCHOHARIE - Schoharie Central School will be losing 92 years of experience at the end of the school year.
Schoharie school board members accepted the retirement resignations of three long-time employees at their March 19 meeting.
The following employees will be retiring at the end of the school year:
* School psychologist Kelly Fagnani, 29 years at SCS.
* Elementary school teacher Nancy McGee, 32 years at SCS.
* Sixth grade teacher Heather O'Brien, 31 years at SCS.
SCS Superintendent David Blanchard said that Ms. Fagnani's position will be a very difficult one to replace. He added that Ms. McGee and Ms. O'Brien will also be very hard to replace. He had high priase for both teachers.

In other action, board members:
* Accepted the resignation of bus driver Sharon Tompkins, effective March 13.
* Accepted the resignation of part-time food service helper Kimberly Palitsch, effective February 4.
* Accepted the resignation of custodian David Snyder, effective March 6.
* Accepted the resignation of part-time teacher aide Michelle Houle, effective February 13. She was added to the SCS substitute list.
* Accepted the extension of an unpaid leave of absence from March 13 through April 22 for Tara Leveski.
* Appointed the following spring coaches: Aaron Tesiero, varsity tennis assistant at a stipend of $1,710.
* Corrected the appointment of Jody Marsh from modified softball head coach to softball program assistant.
* Added the following people as high school class/club advisors: Jody DeJong and Tanja Peters as half-time musical assistants, each at a stipend of $775.
* Added the following people to the SCS substitute list: Nicole Albergo, Mark Greenberg, both non-certified with degrees, Siara Hellijas, and Michelle Houle (cafeteria sub), both non-certified without degree, and Megan Zebrowski, non-certified with degree.
* Added 14 people to the Capital Region BOCES teacher substitute calling service list.
* Accepted a one-time donation of $35,000 and approved a yearly endowment from Joseph and Berna Heyman to be used for need-based student support, per terms and conditions outlined in the endowment letter. Superintendent Blanchard gave a big thank you for the donation.
* Approved the 2026-27 school calendar.
* Approved a list of fixed assets as surplus/obsolete.
