STAMFORD — The Roxbury Arts Group is pleased to offer a new weekly playgroup for toddlers and preschoolers, under 5 years of age, to explore their creativity through sensory play, makerspace opportunities, and hands-on arts activities.
The playgroup meets every Friday, 10:30–11:30a at Headwaters Arts Center, 66 Main Street, Stamford. The first playgroup will meet on Friday, February 20th, 2026. Carers are encouraged to participate, and guidance and materials will be provided. This is a free playgroup, though donations are gratefully accepted.
Through creative, imaginative, and sensory play, children explore their world and develop a foundation for long-term learning. Studies have shown the many developmental benefits of arts education, including:
- Motor skills
- Language development
- Decision making
- Visual learning
- Inventiveness
- Cultural awareness
- Improved academic performance
