PRATTSVILLE – Sending out greetings of appreciation to our active military and veterans. Thank you. Also wish to thank our fuel oil deliverymen for making those timely and much needed oil deliveries.

Only four more weeks of winter to go. The temperatures in the forecast are to be in the 30’s. We can enjoy the warmer temperatures plus the higher temperatures will help to lower those fuel bills.

Lent began on February 18, Ash Wednesday, and is over Easter Sunday, April 5. Hope you got all your vices in before Lent began on February 18, Ash Wednesday, and ends on Easter Sunday, April 5. Hope you got all your vices in before the days of abstinence. Coffee hour at St. Philip Neri on Sunday, after 8 AM Mass. All are welcome and there will be an assortment of coffee pastries to be enjoyed with the conversation and friendship.

The following ladies got their monthly luncheon on Friday the 13th: Kathy Sherman, Carol Landers, Peg Robinson, Shelly Brainard, and Ginny Kennedy. Guess they are not afraid of any Friday the 13th whammy. We are all willing to brave some silly hex to get out of the house after all that really cold weather. Kathy still has loads of material she is willing to part with. Give Kathy a call at 518 299 3186 if you are interested. You will be able to set up a day and time to see and perhaps acquire some of her “stash”. If the arrangements take in a visit to hers and Everett’s new home in Middleburgh, Kathy will be able to show you samples from her latest hobby. Kathy and her sisters Linda, painting, and Emily, knitting, are so very talented. Kathy said she too liked to paint and had done some works of art in the past years so maybe that will be her new career.

Terrie Lane Clark was singing the praises of her granddaughter Mae Theresa. Of course as a first time grandparent, along with husband Brian, she is sure Mae is the smartest, most active and most beautiful little girl ever! Most of us have that grandchild in our family so Mae will just have to stand in line for accolades. But we are sure Mae is right up there with all the winners. Enjoy her, Terrie and Brian, to the fullest. Terrie also related that their son Chris is now enrolled in college again. Think this might be his third successful career choice and he will succeed with this one also. He is single so he is in a position to change or conquer yet again another branch of learning. Good luck Chris, I knew you when!

Al Martel of Grand Gorge is partaking of a local polar plunge at Goodyear Lake on Saturday, February 21. Al was looking for supporters and we apologize for not having the information earlier so you could support him if you so chose. Your support for Al in this event was encouraged because the funds will be used to support nine children with some needs. Al said this is his third year taking part in this and due to his “advancing age”, friends and family encouraged him to get doctors’ approval before enrolling in the plunge. And the good news is he is certainly healthy, as well as willing, to engage in this sport. Good luck Al and thank you for helping those who are in need and can use a helping hand.

Heard we are getting another beautician at the Prattsville Mall. Have not heard of the days and/or hours of business but will get you updated as the information becomes available.

Those seen out and about were Al and Anita Creazzo, and Suzette Stuppert.

Those needing our continued good health wishes are Claudia Bracaliello, Anita Creazzo, Randy Brainerd

Happy belated birthday to Carol Landers on February 12. To take us up to date, we wish Matt Hill, son of Larry and Sandy Case Hill, on February 24. Happy Birthday to Rob Gurley and Chris Brody on February 28.

We need some news so send yours to gurleyrv@gmail.com or call 518 299 3219.
