FLEISCHMANNS — With winter in the rearview and spring fully underway, Fleischmanns is stepping into a new season with a noticeable surge of energy, as businesses, events, and community activity begin to accelerate across the village.

Easter weekend brought a strong turnout throughout the village. Wax & Wild officially introduced itself to the community with a soft opening, welcoming visitors into its new space featuring flowers, vintage records, and a curated mix of gifts. The opening drew steady foot traffic and marked another addition to the village’s growing retail landscape.

Just down the street, Doolittle’s celebrated its two-year anniversary with a packed house on Saturday evening. Guests gathered for drinks and bites, with Jen and Arthur Warren from East Branch Farms providing food for the occasion. The weekend continued with a visit from the Easter Bunny on Sunday, bringing families and children into the shop throughout the afternoon.

Planning continues for the Fleischmanns Memorial Day Street Fair, with organizers confirming that a rock climbing wall will be added to this year’s lineup of family-friendly activities. With each new addition, the event is steadily expanding as it heads into what is expected to be its largest year yet.

The Village Board meeting has been rescheduled and will now take place on Tuesday, April 14 at 9 a.m.

Community-focused programming remains a steady presence in the village. San Mul continues to host its weekly sliding-scale community kitchen on Tuesdays from 2 to 6 p.m., offering an accessible gathering space and meals for residents.

Looking ahead, Doolittle’s will host a weeklong book fair from April 19 through April 25, celebrating National Library Week, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Skene Memorial Library. The week will include a series of special events, including a children’s story hour.  Stay tuned for more details.

Participating businesses in the village have announced a new event series, Summer Fridays in Fleischmanns, which will run every Friday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Participating businesses will remain open from 4 to 9 p.m. and host a rotating lineup of events each week, including pop-ups, art shows, live music, and drag bingo. The series is intended to provide locals with a consistent gathering place for an easy summer evening in the village, while also welcoming visitors arriving for the weekend. The first event will take place on Friday, May 22, with Two Doors Down hosting a Parisian vintage dealer for a clothing pop-up.  Virginia-based musician Justin Golden, known widely for his banjo work, will also perform that evening. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.

The arts calendar continues to grow as well. The 1053 Gallery will host its Spring Mixer on April 11 from 7 to 11 p.m., featuring video projections by Alan Powell and live music by Michael Suchorsky and his band.

Meanwhile, The Print House will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday following a private event, with The Arborline returning to perform from 6 to 8 p.m., continuing a steady rhythm of live music in the village.

Taken together, these developments reflect a clear renaissance taking place in Fleischmanns. With new businesses opening, a growing calendar of events, and increased participation from both residents and visitors, the village is gaining momentum in a meaningful way. As summer approaches, Fleischmanns is shaping up for what promises to be an incredible season.
