WALTON — Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the arrest of a Franklin man for driving with a suspended registration.  

On February 22nd, 2026, while on patrol in the Town of Walton, Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Upon conducting a traffic stop, Deputies identified the operator as 58-year-old Jonathan Finch of Franklin, NY. A check of the vehicle's registration in the NYS DMV database, found that the registration was suspended. 

Finch was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, an unclassified misdemeanor of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law and he was also issued traffic summonses for Speed in Zone and Unregistered Motor Vehicle.  

Finch was released on traffic summonses and was directed to appear at the Town of Walton Court at a later date to answer the charges.
