UTICA — Student entrepreneurs from SUNY Cobleskill delivered a strong performance at the regional New York Business Plan Competition held at SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Friday, April 3.

The highlight of the event was Ashton Thomas of Skyview Grain LLC, who secured first prize in the Food and Agriculture category. With this regional victory, Thomas advances to the state-level competition scheduled for the end of April.

Four out of five registered teams from the college successfully presented their business plans in Utica:

Skyview Grain LLC: Led by Ashton Thomas.

GoLinkly: Represented by Spencer Reisman and Chrischen Chung.

Sacandaga Lakers SC: Led by Samuel Spraker and Jake Lewis.

The Polish Purpose: A team consisting of Skyla Rosado, Albert Sippio, Ashaunnie Moore, and Rayner Tena.

The Blooming Bayou, led by Khyonna Riley-Donegal, was also a registered participant for the cycle.

Organizers praised the confidence and preparation of the competing students, noting that they proved they could successfully compete against top teams from across the Mohawk Valley region. The success mirrors achievements by previous "S4S" teams at the state level last year.

The competition marks the beginning of what faculty advisors describe as a long and exciting entrepreneurial journey for the participating students.
