COBLESKILL— Members of the Schoharie County Model Railroad Association will offer “Steam Engines on the D&H Railroad” at the Monday, May 4 meeting of the Town of Cobleskill Historical Society.
Model Railroad Association members John Bollenton and John Valachovic will share a history of the American Locomotive Company of Schenectady, or ALCO. They’ll bring with them some of the group’s scale model steam engines to display.
Rail aficionado Richard Frank of Cobleskill, will present a digital slideshow depicting the train ride from the Howes Cave depot to Richmondville, with stops in Barnerville and Cobleskill.
The program begins at 6 p.m. in the Cornell Cooperative Extension’s community meeting room at 173 S. Grand St. It is free and open to the public.
As a nonprofit, 501c (3) organization, Cobleskill historical society membership donations are tax deductible. New members are always welcome. Dues are $10 for the year for both individuals and/or families.
