DELHI – District Attorney Shawn J. Smith announced that on April 15, 2026, Taylor Church, 39, of Bainbridge, admitted to violating the terms and conditions of her probation sentence, and was expelled from the Delaware County Adult Treatment Court Program. The Honorable Gary A. Rosa, Delaware County Court Judge, re-sentenced the defendant to 2.5 years in state prison to be followed by 1 year of post release supervision.

First Assistant District Attorney Susan Mallery, the ADA tasked with handling Adult Treatment Court cases, prosecuted the case.

District Attorney Smith stated, “Our Adult Treatment Court Team is comprised of experts in several fields, and they excel at compassionately providing the help necessary for a defendant to overcome their addiction. I can confidently say that Ms. Church was provided with every resource necessary to overcome her drug problem. Ultimately, the decision to overcome addiction needs to be made by the defendant. Ms. Church refused the help being offered, and the only option in that situation is to serve a state prison sentence.”
