SHARON SPRINGS — The Sharon Springs Central School Clay Target Team has started their Spring season this April after an excellent Fall! This team is in their 3rd week of this season.
It was a special Saturday with a big $1000 donation to the Team from David Lorette at White Tails Unlimited East Worcester as a Gold Sponsor for another year. Mr. Lorette has been a huge supporter of the Team since the first season!
The SSCS Clay Target Team will hold competitions each Saturday at 9 AM now through May 23rd with the first one this weekend! Any and all are welcome to come on down to Sprout Brook Rod and Gun Club (1364 State Highway 163 Canajoharie NY) to support this local team!
This season the SSCS Clay Target Team has 27 student athletes (4 new) and is in Class 3A Conference 2 competing against: Akron Central School, Copenhagen Central School, Morristown Central High School, Red Jacket High School, Stillwater Central School, and Voorheesville High School.
Week #3 Highlights: Top Shooter for the day - Sean Shults and Reed VanValkenburg who both tied with a score of 44/50 clays hit! Jackson Ryder and Caiden Castle had 43/50 clays hit!!!
Some other highlights: Putting up the 2026 GOLD & SILVER sponsors on our “wall of sponsors” at our home base Sprout Brook Rod and Gun Club. It was “walking taco day” so BIG thanks to Ms. Amanda, Ms. Rebecca and Ms. Tammy for organizing and running the kitchen!!! Team member Levi Knapp was presented his perfect score patch, 25/25 from Sprout Brook Rod And Gun Club president Dan Clancy, for achieving his perfect score just last weekend.
