Above photo: On January 22nd, Edmeston/Morris Girls Varsity Basketball Team (coached by MaryLynne Bridger) visited Sharon Springs CSD (Girls Varsity Basketball Team coached by Randi Korona). Everyone played hard in a battle that was 16-29 at the half, with an end score of 23-60. Photos by Heather Skinner.

At one point, a chant from the audience could be heard, “We want Hailey! Hailey! Hailey!” Hailey Cashman (Sharon Springs #30) entered the court and played hard with a smile on her face.

Brenna Bolton (Edmeston/Morris #24) was awarded free throws and scored a total of 30 points. Sportsmanship was prevalent throughout the game despite the high competition level; Bolton and Peyton Barbic (Sharon Springs #10) can be seen here hugging after the postgame handshake line. During the game, Ava Dabreau (Edmeston/Morris # 2) helped Barbic get back up after Barbic and another Edmeston/Morris teammate had gone down. From the Sportsmanship Statement read before the game by Sharon Springs player Kaylee Crewell (#12), “Remember that sportsmanship and character are always most important.”
