STAMFORD — The Delaware County community gathered in Stamford on Saturday February, 28 to take part in annual snowmobile drag races hosted by the Central Catskills Trail Association, the event space provided and sponsored by Eklund’s Farm Machinery.
Under clear blue skies, the crowd buzzed with excitement as families cheered from the sidelines and racers revved their machines at the starting line. More than 35 classes competed, from 120 stock, where young riders showcased their emerging skills, to Pro Stock sleds roaring down the track with precision, and the Open Modified class, where experienced racers pushed their machines to the limit.
Other classes include Improved 600, Mod 900, Vintage Mod, King of the Hill, Queen of the Hill, 1000 True Trail, and many more. Snow flew along the frozen track as competitors battled for top spots, and the day was as much a celebration of small town spirit as it was of speed and skill. Special thanks to the organizer and volunteers whose hard work made the event possible. Find
The Central Catskills Trail Association on Facebook for more information about the event and racing classes and winners of the day.
