The Mountain Eagle & Schoharie News would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the GATHER Homeschool Co-Op for inviting us to present to their junior high and high school students about journalism. This career exploration series topic was requested by one of their junior high students. Reporter, Heather Skinner, was thrilled to see the students’ engagement, get to answer their thoughtful questions, and tell them about Mountain Eagle internship positions. Presentation photo taken & provided by Kimberly Verderber, and while Skinner was visiting she got the opportunity to revisit her roots of being a yearbook committee member when she was in school when asked to take the group’s spring yearbook photo. This group’s interest in writing, literacy, community, and providing homeschool families with opportunities is a beacon of hope and inspiration. It was an honor to meet Schoharie County’s next generation of storytellers and journalists.
