Sheriff’s Department Investigating Fatal Accident

NEW BALTIMORE – The Greene County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a two car fatal motor vehicle accident which occurred on April 21, at approximately 1:56pm on State Route 144 in the Town of New Baltimore. Investigation at the scene revealed that a 2019 Honda Civic being operated by Jenna Mohr, age 26, of Hannacroix, was heading westbound and a 2017 Subaru Forester being operated by 

Charles Rappa, age 65, of New Baltimore, was heading eastbound. Evidence at the scene indicated that the operator of the Honda failed to keep right and entered into the eastbound lane striking the Subaru head-on. The operator of the Honda, Mohr, was extricated by New Baltimore Fire Dept members and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the Subaru was transported to Albany Medical Center by Ravena Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Greene County Paramedics, New Baltimore Fire Dept., Ravena Rescue and the New York State Police. The investigation into this accident remains ongoing at this time.
