NORTHVILLE — A five-run seventh inning propelled Sharon Springs to a 8-7 comeback victory over Northville/Wells on Thursday. Despite trailing for much of the game, the Spartans utilized a 10-hit attack to secure the narrow road win.

D. Bruce led the offensive charge for Sharon Springs, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs. C. Layman provided significant support at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored. Sharon Springs also displayed aggressive baserunning, recording five stolen bases, including two each from Layman and B. Duncan.

Northville/Wells established an early lead, scoring five runs across the third and fourth innings to take a 5-3 advantage. B. Winn drove in two runs for the home team, while S. Pagano and J. Capobianco III each recorded two hits in the loss.

On the mound, C. Erkson started for Sharon Springs, striking out six and allowing no earned runs over four innings. C. Layman earned the win in relief, pitching the final three frames and striking out three.

Northville/Wells starter J. Capobianco III delivered a strong performance, striking out nine batters over 6.1 innings, but the SSCS bats came alive against the bullpen in the final frame. Defensive miscues played a role for both sides, with Sharon Springs committing five errors and Northville/Wells recording three.
