SEWARD —  Jan. 12 at 6:30 p.m. saw the first regular town board meeting for Seward with Mark Fletcher as the new Supervisor. They did have an organizational board meeting January 5, 2026.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. That was followed by all standing for the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting minutes from December 8, 2025 and January  5, 2026 were accepted. There was a privilege of the floor requested, and then followed by a second, not listed, but listened to. 

There were written and oral reports from: Supervisor, Highway Superintendent, Town Clerk, Anderson, Dog Control, and Code enforcement. All reports were accepted. 

Chad Evans is the Highway Superintendent and has been digging in and learning the job. He came tonight with a wealth of research and town needs. The board listened to his needs and the past Highway Superintendent,  Tony K. recommendations.  

The old business was was discussed as well

 They spoke of issue tracking that Mr. Harlow began.  Later turning their attention to the sewer system and fire alarm systems. The meeting concluded with the auditing of bills, and adjournment.  

The next meeting will be on February 9, 6:30 p.m. A public hearing will be held before this meeting at 6:00 p.m. The town is looking for two motivated individuals to serve on the Planning Board. One will fill in for Tim Diefendorf's remainder of his service years. This term would start now and end December 31, 2028. The other spot is for Rich Donahue. It will start now and end December 30, 2030. If you or someone you know would fit in, please come to the public hearing
