SCHOHARIE COUNTY — The Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corp. (SEEC) is  proud to announce the launch of the Main Street Matters Series, a three-part virtual workshop  designed to support Schoharie County business owners with properties located in Schoharie  County Historic Districts.

Hosted via Zoom, this informative series will provide participants with valuable insight into funding  resources, great design principles, and technical assistance available to historic property owners.  SEEC is partnering with the New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and  Preservation Studios to deliver expert guidance and real-world case studies.

The first session entitled “Main Street Matters: Preservation, CLGs & Funding Pathways” will take  place on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This introductory session will  provide an overview of Certified Local Governments (CLGs), Historic Tax Credits, and available  state, local, and federal programs. Case studies will be featured to illustrate successful projects  and funding strategies.

Session Two, planned for May 2026, will focus on great design within historic districts and will  again include case studies highlighting thoughtful, preservation-sensitive improvements.

The final session, scheduled for September 2026, will guide participants through the funding  application process, offering practical advice and technical insight to help strengthen submissions  and improve outcomes.

“Main Street Matters” reflects SEEC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Schoharie County’s  historic commercial corridors by equipping property owners with the knowledge and tools needed  to invest confidently and responsibly in their buildings.
