SCHOHARIE — The Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corp. (SEEC) has opened applications for a new business growth program designed to help local small businesses transition from stabilization to long-term strategic scaling.

The program, titled the "Economic Gardening Initiative," offers grants of up to $10,000 for qualifying Schoharie County businesses. The initiative focuses on providing established companies with advisory support, operational improvements, and the tools necessary to expand their market reach.

According to SEEC, the program is tailored for businesses that have been in operation for at least one to two years and are committed to implementing meaningful changes alongside expert advisors. The primary goals of the cohort include increasing revenue, strengthening internal operations, and entering new markets.

"Rural doesn't mean limited," said Afolabi Salami, Senior Program Administrator at SEEC. "Schoharie County has businesses that are ready to scale, they just need the right intelligence and resources behind them. That's exactly what this program delivers."

The initiative is a limited cohort, and businesses focused on scaling are encouraged to apply early. SEEC noted that the application process is streamlined, taking approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

Business owners with questions regarding the program or the application process can contact SEEC at progress@seecny.org.
