ITHACA - Fifteen Schoharie Central School students braved the cold and attended the New York Lower Voices Sing event at Cornell University in Ithaca on Saturday, February 7. The Cornell University Glee Club, which has been around since 1868, hosts the event annually and SCS students were invited to participate this year.
Students spent the day at Cornell with Dr. Nicolás Dosman, an Associate Professor of Teaching and Director of Choirs at UC Davis, preparing four pieces to be performed in a culminating concert. The students sang alongside the Glee Club members and also worked with their acapella subset, The Hangs, for part of the day.
At the conclusion of the rehearsals our students performed in Cornell's beautiful Sage Chapel.
Congratulations to the SCS tenors and basses for participating in this incredible event: Jarrett Bloodgood, Benjamin Borst, John Carhide, Bennett Davis, Jase DeJong, Corbin Foster, James Masa, Joseph Robert, Max Rosenthal, Joshua Ringuette, Andrew Shrederis, Dillon Snay, Zavier Torres, Ethan VanScoy, and Zecheriah Warner.
