SCHOHARIE — The Schoharie Storm defeated Galway 9-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Tyler Dingee and Noah Spencer each pitched for Schoharie. Dingee induced a fly out to get the last out. Special thanks to Eric Croote and GameChanger Media for the information.

The bottom of the lineup was strong for the Storm. Trevor Barrett, Caleb Cain, and Cameron Condon combined for five of the team's seven hits in their victory. They scored one run and drove in one.

The Storm got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Galway dropped a third strike, and Dingee laid down a sacrifice bunt, each scoring one run.

A fielder's choice by Kolebyn Scheemaker, a walk by Spencer, and a ground out by Dingee helped Schoharie extend their early lead in the second.

A single by Barrett extended the Schoharie Storm’s lead to 7-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Spencer earned the win for Schoharie. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking three. The Galway starting pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on two hits, striking out four and walking four. Dingee tossed two innings of zero-run ball for the Storm in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit, striking out two and walking one.

Dingee drove the middle of the lineup, leading Schoharie with two runs batted in.  Barrett and Condon were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Schoharie. Spencer led the Storm with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Zaiden Baker, Ben Borst, Scheemaker, and Spencer each stole multiple bases for Schoharie. The Storm ran wild on the base paths, collecting 19 stolen bases for the game.

The umpire looks on as Spencer slides across the plate, beating the throw to Galway catcher Theo Freidman. Spencer had five stolen bases and scored three runs in the Storm’s Monday night 9-0 shutout of the Galway Golden Eagles.

Schoharie third baseman Ben Borst fields a ground ball and fires it to Cameron Condon at first, retiring the Galway side in the third inning.
