CATSKILL MOUNTAINS — The Annual 2026 Maple Weekend in the Catskills happens this month as the syrup boils in sap houses across the region. On the last two weekends of the month, March 21st, 22nd, 28th, and 29th, syrup producers will host open houses, welcoming visitors to their facilities for tastings, tours, demonstrations, and pancake breakfasts. Prices of the breakfasts vary. Times are 10am to 4pm unless otherwise stated below.

Shaver-Hill has a retail store on site, open seven days a week and thriving internet and wholesale business. They started tapping on February 17th and started boiling on March 6th. They will have a sample table and horse-drawn wagon rides to the sugar bush on both Maple Weekends.
They will be having a pancake breakfast both weekends. This year four different school groups will be coming to help serve customers, clean tables and take out garbage. Those school groups will receive some of the proceeds of the sales of breakfast that day.
On Sunday March 22nd, the NYS Commissioner of Agriculture will be arriving at 10am. On Saturday 28th, they will be hosting NYS assemblymen Chris Tague and Peter Oberacker.
NORTHERN ULSTER COUNTY

Tree Juice Maple Syrup is located in one of the most gorgeous valleys in the Catskills, Dry Brook Valley, on the Fairbairn Family Farm’s 100-year-old sap house. Access this part of Northern Ulster County from Route 28 at Fleischmanns, Arkville, or Pine Hill via Belleayre Ski Mountain.

At Buck Hill Farm, run by Sharon Buck Collins, there will also be demonstrations of maple candy, maple cream, and granulated maple syrup production processes, in addition to a pancake breakfast on both weekends. Tapping started in February. The sap bush has been in operation since 1960, having been started by maple enthusiasts Charles and Lynn Buck, Lynn having been instrumental in starting the whole operation. Lynn “worked tirelessly to build a clientele” says Sharon Buck-Collins. “Dad could make lots of syrup, but Lynn got the customers”. Sharon’s children now work on production, making them the third generation farmer-producers of Buck Hill Farm.

You won’t find Hubbells Family farm on the Maple Weekend website or brochure, but they are getting a special mention here due to their tireless support of the local community. Hubbells operate a farm, and a small maple operation with 1300 taps. They began tapping on February 17th this year and started boiling on March 1st. They normally make around 400 gallons of syrup that they bottle and sell in their farm store.
