PHOENICIA — The Phoenicia Library will host a public celebration Wednesday to mark the 30th anniversary of the Jerry Bartlett Memorial Angling Collection and Angler’s Parlor.
The event, titled "Something Fishy is STILL Going on at the Phoenicia Library," is scheduled for April 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the library’s 48 Main St. location. Organizers say the celebration serves as a testament to the community's resilience following a history of challenges including fire, floods, and the recent pandemic.
The Jerry Bartlett Memorial Angling Collection is a specialized resource dedicated to the history and practice of fly fishing in the Catskills. The collection and its accompanying Angler’s Parlor provide a space for local fishers and historians to gather and preserve the region's deep angling heritage.
The anniversary event is free and open to the public. Attendees can expect coffee, cakes, and snacks during the three-hour afternoon reception.
