BREAKABEEN — The P. Keith Nelson Food Pantry, which serves about 50 families each week, is seeking donations of spaghetti, pasta and hard-to-source household essentials as it continues to assist residents in need.

The pantry is open to anyone who needs help on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon and on alternating Mondays from 4 to 5 p.m.

It is located at 129A Clauverwie Road in Breakabeen, next to the Breakabeen Presbyterian Church. Those wishing to drop off donations are asked to text Emma at (518) 818-4015 to arrange a time.

This week, the pantry is facing a shortage of spaghetti and pasta. Emma said donors can also help by focusing on items that are often harder for the pantry to obtain.

“I think that people should try to stick to things that we’re not able to get easily like toilet paper, tissues or even dish soap and things like that,” she said.

Monetary donations may be mailed to 129 Clauverwie Road, Middleburgh, 12122, or dropped off at the pantry after arranging a time by text. Donors will receive a donation letter that may be used for tax purposes.

More information is available on the pantry’s Facebook page, “P. Keith Nelson ‘Breakabeen’ Food Pantry.”
