DELHI — On a Saturday morning in late February, the Delaware River Lodge #439 will open its doors at 37 Meredith Street in Delhi, for a community-driven Pancake Breakfast Benefit. From 8 a.m. to noon on February 21, locals are invited to gather for a meal with a purpose, with a suggested donation of $12 to help fund the cutting-edge work of the Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI).

The MMRI serves as an independent medical research laboratory dedicated to unravelling the complexities of genetic disorders and chronic diseases. Its mission is built on the belief that collaborative, high-level research today is the only way to enable the medical cures of tomorrow.

The institute’s roots trace back to 1958, when it was founded by the New York State Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons following their successful efforts to raise funds for the eradication of rheumatic diseases. Since its inception, the MMRI has evolved into a powerhouse of innovation, now focusing its efforts on three primary research frontiers: cardiovascular disease, autoimmune conditions, and neurocognitive disorders.

Beyond the laboratory bench, the institute strives to empower scientists to take bold risks, share transformative ideas, and build a more inclusive scientific community. By attending the breakfast in Delhi, supporters are contributing directly to this vision, as all proceeds from the event are dedicated to propelling medical science forward.

Those looking for more details on the institute’s history or current research projects can find further information at www.mmri.edu.
