Saturday, March 7 is the Ashland Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary’s Italian Pasta Dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Town of Ashland Firehouse, 12094 Route 23, Ashland. You may dine in or takeout. Menu includes your choice of ravioli, lasagna or Penne pasta and meatballs, tossed salad, Italian bread, dessert, coffee, iced tea or water. Adults are $13, children are $8 and under six years are free. There will be a 50/50 raffle also.
Hensonville Hose Company, 432 State Route 296, Hensonville, is holding their annual Lent Fish Fry dinners every Friday during Lent – March 6, March 13, March 20, March 27, April 3 (Good Friday). On April 10 the dinner will be a fundraiser for the School Trap Team. Meals served 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., dine in or take out. Call ahead to pre-order at 518-734-3040. Available are an 8 ounce haddock fillet or 4 ounce sandwich; chicken tenders or clam strips, french fries or baked potato, coleslaw, dinner roll and brownie for dessert. Hunter-Tannersville MS/HS is presenting a drama production of Beetle Juice, Jr. at Hunter-Tannersville MS/HS, 6094 Main Street, Tannersville. Admission is $10. The Strange Cast performances are March 6 at 6 p.m. and March 7 at 2 p.m. The Unusual Cast performances are March 7 at 6 p.m. and March 8 at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, March 10 is the next Fellowship Lunch at the Kaaterskill UMC, Main Street, Tannersville from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come and enjoy the fellowship and a free meal.
The Windham-Hensonville UMC, Main Street, Windham will hold their annual St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef Luncheon on Friday, March 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For $19 you will receive a corned beef sandwich, coleslaw, bag o’chips, dessert, soda or water. A presentation on Become Bear Wise will be held at the Shandaken Town Hall on Monday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m. with speaker John Milo, DEC Wildlife Biologist, Division of Fish and Wildlife. Learn how to live responsibly with black bears at home, business and when recreating outdoors.
On Sunday, March 29, noon to 4 p.m., there will be a fundraiser at the Grand Gorge Firehouse, 60753 NY, Grand Gorge for one of their own members who is braving a battle with brain cancer. GGFD is hosting this fundraiser on his behalf to help him and his two children during the fight. Tickets for chicken pre-orders, T-shirts and bracelets will be available at Ricks Tire, MC Auto, Pizza Plus, Joe’s Gun Shop and Beauty Kreations or a GGFD member. Chicken dinners available for pre-order only begin at 12 p.m., $15 each. Raffles and 50/50 will be open to view 12 p.m to 4 p.m. Winners called at 4 p.m. and do not need to be present to win. The Greene County Senior Nutrition Program menu for the week of March 9 – March 13 is as follows: Monday—Beef chili, mixed vegetables, rice, pears; Tuesday-- Tortellini Alfredo with chicken, Sonoma vegetables, vanilla mousse; Wednesday—Pork chop with gravy, applesauce, sweet potato, peas, cherry crisp; Thursday—Meatball sub, Italian mixed vegetables, pasta salad, fresh fruit; Friday—Beer battered fish, coleslaw, broccoli, baked potato, oatmeal cookie. All persons 60 and older are invited to attend. Meals served at noon, suggested $4 donation for each meal. Congregate reservations are required by noon at least a day in advance. If you reserve a meal and are unable to attend, please call as soon as you can to cancel.
