The West Kill/Lexington Community Improvement Association’s annual Maple Brunch on April 19 at the Community Hall in West Kill was a great success. Excellent turnout – even in the snow! Thank you all for your support.

What’s for dinner Friday, April 24? Brooks’ Chicken BBQ at the Lexington/West Kill UMC, 54 County Route 13A, Lexington from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Takeouts but there will be limited seating in the dining hall and you are welcomed to use the dining hall to sit and enjoy your takeout meal. Dinners are

$17 and include half a chicken, baked potato, green beans, coleslaw and brownie. A chicken half is $8.

On Saturday, April 25 you can enjoy a Roast Beef Dinner sponsored by the Ashland Fire Department, 12094 State Highway 23, Ashland. Takeouts at 4:30 p.m., dine in at 5 p.m. Dinners are $20.

Saturday, April 25 is World Penguin Day. Come to the Hunter Public Library, 7965 Main Street, Hunter and make a penguin craft.

The Prattsville Hose Company is sponsoring a Roast Pork Dinner at 47 Firehouse Drive, Prattsville on Saturday, May 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., adult dinners are $18, children 6-12 are $9; 5 and under are free. Takeouts available.

Michael Barcone will be presenting a program on “The Shot Heard ‘Round the World – Lexington and Concord, April 18, 1775,” at the West Kill/Lexington Community Hall, 141 Spruceton Road, West Kill on May 16 at 1 p.m. as we continue to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolutionary War and it’s impact on America’s independence.

The Greene County Senior Nutrition Program menu for the week of April 27 – May 1 is as follows:

Monday—Beef chili, old fashioned vegetable mix, white rice, pears; Tuesday—Lemon pepper fish, broccoli, parsley potatoes, pineapple/mandarin oranges; Wednesday—Turkey burger with peppers and onions, scalloped potatoes, California mixed vegetables, fruited Jell-O; Thursday—Spaghetti and meatballs, Italian mixed vegetables, garden salad, fresh fruit; Friday—Chicken Caesar salad, (croutons have gluten), marinated carrots, macaroni salad, fresh fruit. All persons 60 and older are invited to attend. Meals served at noon, suggested $4 donation for each meal. Congregate reservations are required by noon at least a day in advance. If you reserve a meal and are unable to attend, please call as soon as you can to cancel. The number to call for the Senior Service Center at the Jewett Municipal Building, 3547 Route 23C, Jewett is 518-263-4392.
