The Hensonville Hose Company, 432 State Route 296, Hensonville, has two more Lenten Fish Fry Friday Dinners on March 27 and April 3.  Meals served 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., dine in or take out.  Call ahead to pre-order at 518-734-3040.  Available are an 8 ounce haddock fillet or 4 ounce sandwich; chicken tenders or clam strips, french fries or baked potato, coleslaw, dinner roll and brownie for dessert.  Fish or clam meal is $20; $15 per sandwich or chicken meal.  On April 10 the dinner will be a fundraiser for the School Trap Team.

March 30 is National Pencil Day.  Come to the Hunter Public Library, 7965 Main Street, Hunter, take out a book and get a pencil.

Wednesday, April 1 is the Lexington/West Kill UMC Administrative Council meeting at 4:30 p.m. in the Lexington church hall.

Thursday, April 2 there will be a Holy Thursday Soup and Bread Supper at the Windham-Hensonville UMC, 5296 Main Street, Windham at 5 p.m. Worship service is at 7 p.m.

Good Friday, April 3 service will be 7:15 p.m. in the Kaaterskill UMC, 5942 Main Street, Tannersville.

Easter Sunday morning, April 5 services:

Sunrise Service in the Lexington Cemetery at 6:45 a.m. followed with an Easter Breakfast in Fellowship Hall, Lexington/West Kill UMC, 54 County Route 13A, Lexington,  There is no 9 a.m. worship service in Lexington.

Sunrise Service also at 6:45 a.m. in Twilight Park.

Easter Sunday worship services:  Ashland, 9 a.m.; Lanesville, 9:30 a.m.; Tannersville, 10:30 a.m.; Windham-Hensonville, 11 a.m.

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Young’s Ace Hardware in Prattsville.  The Easter Bunny will be there.  Children and adults are all welcomed.  There will be stuffed eggs galore, no charge, rain or shine.  Sponsored by the American Legion Unit 1327 and its many friends and supporters.

Please come and support the Ashland Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary at an All You Can Eat Breakfast on Saturday, April 11 from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Ashland Firehouse, 12094 State Route 23, Ashland for a free-will offering, eat in or takeout.  The Department is hosting the 138th Greene County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Convention on Sept. 9 – 12 and Ashland Fire Department’s 100th year.  Breakfast choices:  Breakfast sandwich on hard roll with choice of bacon or sausage, American cheese, side of home fries; eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, pancakes, french toast, toast, biscuits and gravy, local maple syrup, orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, chocolate milk.  There will also be a Chinese Auction located in the firehouse--$5 a sheet and a 50/50 raffle.  Ticket drawing starts at 3 p.m.  If you need more info or have questions, please call Diane at 518-734-3636.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the Town of Lexington Annual Patriots’ Day on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. in the Community Hall, 141 Spruceton Road, West Kill, sponsored by the Town of Lexington Town Historians Mary Palazzolo and Christine Dwon.  There will be a special presentation by Jonathan Palmer, Greene County Historian on “Sourcing Revolution.”  Join Jon for a talk on the broad array of primary source materials and traditional accounts that tell the story of the American Revolution in Greene County.  From ambushes and skirmishes to political intrigue and tests of loyalty, this talk will focus on noteworthy episodes and the remarkable surviving documents that preserve the evidence of these foundational events in our region’s history.  There will be refreshments, a door prize and 50/50 raffle.

The West Kill/Lexington Community Improvement Association will be holding their annual meeting, Saturday, April 11 at 3 p.m. at the Community Hall, 141 Spruceton Road, West Kill.  There will be refreshments following the Patriots’ Day presentation, a chance for everyone to look over the WKLCIA records and make suggestions for future activities.  The President and Treasurer of the WKLCIA will give their reports and there will be voting for members of the Board of Directors.

The WKLCIA’s annual Maple Brunch will be held Sunday, April 19 from 10 a.m to 1 p.m.  You do not want to miss that.

The Greene County Senior Nutrition Program menu for the week of March 30 – April 3 is as follows: Monday—Sausage and peppers sub, parsley potatoes, Italian mixed vegetables, pineapple; Tuesday—Chicken Marsala, California vegetable medley, mashed potatoes, rice, pears; Wednesday—Stuffed shells marinara with meatball, Italian mixed vegetables, applesauce, chocolate ship cookies; Thursday—Easter lunch—Baked ham with raisin sauce, scalloped potatoes, glazed carrots, lemon meringue pie; Friday—Seafood salad plate, mixed greens, cucumbers and tomatoes, potato salad, fresh fruit.  All persons 60 and older are invited to attend.  Meals served at noon, suggested $4 donation for each meal. Congregate reservations are required by noon at least a day in advance.  If you reserve a meal and are unable to attend, please call as soon as you can to cancel.  The number to call for the Senior Service Center at the Jewett Municipal Building, 3547 Route 23C, Jewett is 518-263-4392.
