ONEONTA — A relentless offensive surge in the opening frame lifted the Oneonta Yellowjackets to a 10-0 victory over the Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs on Thursday.

Oneonta established control immediately, plating six runs in the first inning. N. Stark led the charge with a home run and a hit-by-pitch, while G. Brockington anchored the lineup with a game-high four RBIs. B. Carr delivered a standout performance on both sides of the ball, finishing 3-for-4 with a double at the plate while tossing a five-inning shutout with three strikeouts.

The Bulldogs' bats were kept quiet throughout the afternoon, managed only three hits against Carr's efficient outing. Senior Elijah Barr, senior Matt Gunzinger, and freshman Ty Gunzinger each recorded a single, but the team was unable to sustain a rally.

Cobleskill-Richmondville’s pitching staff faced a difficult task from the start. Junior Landon Huslander took the loss, tagged for six runs in the first inning. Senior Aiden Carr provided lengthy relief, allowing just one run over 3.2 innings , before junior Alex Hertzler finished the game on the mound.

Defensive struggles further hampered the Bulldogs, who committed four errors in the field, including two by sophomore catcher Devin Covey.

With the win, Oneonta capitalized on nearly every opportunity, while Cobleskill-Richmondville fell to 0-10 on the season.
