Summit (Schoharie County): Robert H. Peck, 76, passed away Tuesday, January 27th at his home after a very brief illness.
Robert was born December 15, 1949 in Copiague, NY, a son of Henry and Helen (Shields) Peck. He attended Freeport High School and later, began his career as “Sunshine Landscaping” in Freeport. Bob worked in his industry for many years and eventually discovered rural Schoharie County where he purchased his property, built a shelter and spent time getting to know the area. He would also travel the countryside where he enjoyed camping and dirt biking. His greatest passion however, were old cars where he would build rat-rods from the ground up, then motoring around the local car show scene. His latest project was a ’49 Olds that he was most proud of.
Survivors include: his daughter; Valerie Peluso (Mark) of Roxbury, NY, his grandchildren; Brianna Lessinger (Derrick), Brian Lembcke and Lily-Ann Lembcke, his brother, Dutch Bosmans of Valley Stream, NY, his sister Deanna Floge of Redondo Beach, CA along with nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bob to: Marathon For A Better Life, PO Box 268, Warnerville, NY 12187.
