IN LOVING MEMORY

Peter L. Jump, age 59, of Richmondville, NY passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2026. He was born on August 27, 1966, in Amsterdam, NY, to Larry Jump and Ruth (Young) Shalor. 

Peter graduated from Cobleskill High School in 1987 and proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country with dedication and honor. His time in the Army reflected his strong sense of duty, loyalty, and perseverance - qualities that remained evident throughout his life. 

Peter was known by family and friends as a gentle and sweet soul. He often showed his care in quiet ways and left a lasting impression through his kindness, sensitivity, and presence. To Jacob, his beloved son: Peter carried his love for you quietly and faithfully. Though life and illness shaped his pat, his heart was tender, and his love for you never wavered. 

Peter is survived by his son, Jacob Jump; his father, Larry Jump (Phyllis); stepfather Don Shalor; stepmother, Carol Jump; brothers Kevin Shalor (Tanya) and Todd Jump (Stacy); sisters Michelle Cochran (Paul) and Melissa Miller (Tyler); as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish his memory. 

He was predeceased by his mother, Ruth Shalor, as well as both his maternal and paternal grandparents. 

Peter will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love he carried for his family. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and the stories that will continue to be told.
