New York City - It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved sister Mary “Mimi” M. Clarke on January 31, 2026 in NYC, NY.

Mary was born April 21,1950 in Flushing, NY. She was the oldest daughter of Charles V. and Margaret J. (Cardon) Clarke.

Left to mourn her are brothers and sisters Charles (late Colleen) Clarke, Thomas (Joan) Clarke, Margaret (Andrew) Carballeira, Patrick (Colleen) Clarke, Christopher (Susan) Clarke and Cecelia (Charles) Clarke-Schinkel along with many dear sisters-in laws, nieces and nephews and her dearest friend Dr. Rodolfo Llinas.

Mary was a ‘NewYorker’ through and through and had a long and fascinating career as Chief Administrator of the NYU Department of Physiology Biophysics & Neuroscience for 30 years plus . She was a passionate and life-long learner and a graduate of the Wagner School of Ethics. As an experienced traveler, Bogota, Columbia was a special spot for her.

Mary's fierce independence was an inspiration to all who knew her, as was her devotion to serving her community and the world. She was a Eucharistic/Hospitality Minister at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, NYC, delighting in the children especially. Mary gave freely of her time to Lenox Hill and Bellevue Hospital, offering comfort and support. In the end, Mary gave far more than she took.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the spring.

The Langan Funeral Home of Schoharie and the Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home of Cobleskill are assisting the Clarke family. Please visit www.langanfuneralhome.com for further information or to leave a special message for Mimi’s family and friends.
