SCHOHARIE — A new local business is marking its arrival in the community by partnering with a local food pantry to address food insecurity.
Dayzed Cannabis will host a community food drive on April 20 at its new storefront located at 434 Main St. As part of the grand opening celebration, the business is offering an incentive for donations: customers who bring in four dry good items will receive a $20 gift bag for free.
"We are thrilled to officially join the Schoharie community and wanted to ensure our opening celebration provided a direct benefit to our new neighbors," said Jake Davis, co-owner of Dayzed Cannabis.
All donations collected during the event will be directed to the Schoharie Community Food Pantry. Organizers are specifically requesting non-perishable items such as pasta, rice, cereals, jarred or canned goods, baby formula, and shelf-stable condiments or oils. Participants are asked to avoid donating refrigerated items, fresh produce, baked goods, or frozen foods.
The promotion is limited to two transactions per customer and is available while supplies last. The storefront is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Additional information regarding the event and the business can be found at DayzedCanna.com.
