MARGARETVILLE - On Wednesday February 25, Margaretville high school students in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) participated in "Mock States"- a practice run for most students before their state-level competition, and the actual competition for the Culinary Arts team. Competitors were Bella Andre, Julia Balcom Salazar, Danielle Sanford and Matthew Greene, Vivian Faraci, and Everley Marks.

The event was possible thanks to collaboration with the generous community professionals in various fields, who donated their time and expertise to evaluate and provide advice and guidance to students.

Many thanks go out to Marybeth and Devin Mills of Peekamoose Restaurant in Big Indian, Patty Tripodi of Patty's Cakery in Roxbury, The Reporter, Christina Stickle, MCS Business teacher, and Rebecca McDermott, MCS Food Service staff.

The students will next compete at their annual State Leadership Conference on March 19 and 20. Photos courtesy Margaretville Central School.
