MARGARETVILLE — Another ... our 26th ... season has finally begun and our opening day event Saturday, April 11 (free tournament and a Southern BBQ Buffet) was a hit for 40 golfers and diners at Margaretville's Meadows Golf Center & All American BBQ.

The 6th annual Master of the Meadows was won by Cody Johnson. He's now the 2nd two-time winner in its brief history joining 2024, 2025 two-time champ Matt Sluiter. Cody posted an 11 over par 98 over 27 holes. He overcame a one-shot deficit in the final nine holes by posting birdies on the fifth and ninth (final) hole of the competition.

On a separate note... Tanner Reither of Arkville joins the MGC Eagle Club after his hole in one on the 26th hole of the Master of the Meadows ... Playing into the 86 yard 8th green with his 58 degree lob wedge Tanner's tee shot struck the flag and rather than deflecting far away from the hole as would be expected it leapt into the cup for the first Ace at MGC this season... partner Devin Amundsen of Arkville witnessed.
