MCS Leadership Accepts Appreciation Award — Superintendent Michelle Osterhoudt, left, and MCS Board President Doris Warner proudly accepted an appreciation award on behalf of the Margaretville Central School Board of Education.
MARGARETVILLE — Margaretville Central School District (MCS) was recently recognized by the New York State Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) for its continued support of student leadership and growth.
The award was presented at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference banquet on March 19 at Villa Roma in Callicoon. Board of Education member Doris Warner accepted the recognition on behalf of the district. During the same event, Margaretville student LilliAnn VanBenschoten was installed as the New York State FCCLA President, marking a proud moment for the district and its school community.
The Board of Education was nominated for this recognition by FCCLA advisor Kate VanBenschoten for its continued support during a transitional period in the local chapter. VanBenschoten serves not only as the chapter advisor, but is also the parent of incoming state president LilliAnn VanBenschoten.
This honor reflects MCS’s ongoing commitment to providing students with meaningful opportunities to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and engage in experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
Superintendent Osterhoudt shared, “We are incredibly proud of our FCCLA students and all they have accomplished. Their dedication, leadership, and willingness to take on new challenges truly represent the best of our school community. As a district, we remain committed to supporting opportunities that help all students grow as leaders and individuals.”
Moments like this highlight what is possible when students are supported, encouraged, and given the opportunity to lead.
