MIDDLEBURGH — By pairing a thirst for knowledge with hard work, five students rise to the top of their class.

Middleburgh Central School District is proud to announce the Class of 2026 Top 5. The five highest grade point averages belong to:

Valedictorian: Delilah Shultes

Salutatorian: Brooke Devlin

Honor Graduate: Matthew Quinn

Fourth Highest Average: Ev Kelley 

Fifth Highest Average: Reily Murphy

Principal Matthew Sloane expressed how proud the district is of the Top Five.

“They have worked hard not only to maintain a high academic average, but lead our school and district,” said Sloane. “They are accomplished individuals in the classroom, on the sports field, and in various clubs and activities. They are all inspiring, and we wish them nothing but the best as they start the next chapter of their lives.”

In addition to their devotion to their academic work, the top five are involved in many extra-curricular activities, including the National Honor Society, Youth as Leaders, Next Gen: Med Club; band, drama club, athletics. Their career goals vary widely, from biomedical engineering and physical therapy to art and English. One of the five will also graduate from the BOCES Career and Technical nursing program.
