Man Arrested for Alleged DWI

HANCOCK — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Connecticut man for driving while intoxicated. 

On Saturday morning, February 28th, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies were traveling on State Highway 17, in the Town of Hancock when they observed a vehicle parked on the highway. Deputies made contact with the driver who was identified as Adam Pancak, 41 years of age of Stratford, CT. 

Upon completion of the investigation, Deputies arrested and charged Pancak with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree, both unclassified misdemeanors of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law, Unlicensed Operator, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, No/Illegal Windshield,  Parking on a Public Highway, Operating without Insurance, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and Refusal to take Breath Test, all violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. 

Following arrest processing, Pancak was released on appearance tickets and summonses, directing him to appear at the Town of Hancock Court at a later date.
