SEWARD — Saturday April 4, at 4:00 p.m. there was a community egg hunt. It was located in the Seward Town Park. This hint was put on my Councilwoman Maryann Nelson, Councilman Bill Harlow, and Councilwoman Wendy Rosa. The very same park that held the First Annual Christmas Tree Lighting.
This team was able to fill 500 eggs for the children and adults to find. From a park with just pretty eggs, to minutes later filled with local families. Many of the families who attended, were able to walk right down the street. It was so adorable to see the children in their rubber boots and Easter baskets ready.
Maryann brought out her cupcakes she prepared, and then gave instructions to the crowd. But no Easter Egg Hunt is complete without the Easter Bunny! Can you believe it, I met the Easter Bunny two times today! Once the bunny arrived the hunt was on!
Members of the community stayed near the roads keeping the excited kids safe. Buckets were filling up fast! Families found each other again to share the goodies inside their eggs. Some kids traded and shared their candy. You could hear giggles and see the smiles that beamed from the faces of everyone there.
After the hunt some families stayed to chat with each other. Some families snacked on their candy. Others sat to enjoy a cupcake. A slow Saturday afternoon was in order. This little park is gaining more and more attention! Thank you for being part of an event in our town.
