MIDDLEBURGH — Northeastern Insurance Agency is a family-owned brokerage based out of Latham. They work with more than 20 carriers and specialize in home, auto, and business insurance.

She has been working at the current company for more than a year and has 19 years of commercial insurance experience in total. She lives in Middleburgh with her husband and kids and serves on the Middleburgh Village Board.

She is a commercial account manager, helping businesses achieve tailored insurance coverage for their operations. She is also licensed to sell auto and home insurance as well. 

She said that some customers “don’t fully dive into the terms & exclusions of their policies in addition to their coverage limits.” Having an agent that is able to educate the insured on their policy makes for a more proactive approach rather than reactive at the time of a loss.

Fernandez says that she is “only a phone call away” and able to visit any clients or potential clients in Schoharie, Delaware, and Greene counties. Northeastern Insurance also works with a number of carriers that are not generally available in these counties, which allows for potentially better coverage at a less expensive rate, she said.

She finds it especially rewarding to be able to “maintain relationships with my clients on a daily basis.”

Fernandez added that one of the specialties that Northeastern offers is farm coverage. Amanda can schedule on-site visits with potential clients to review their farm operations & check current policies to identify potential gaps in coverage.  Amanda’s goal is to provide  “a more personal feel”, and being able to “put a face to the name” is crucial, she said.
