SCHOHARIE - The Old Stone Fort Museum is excited to announce an upcoming Junior  Explorers program focused on the art and science of natural dyes. Designed for young learners,  this hands-on experience will give children the opportunity to explore how colors can be created  from nature while expressing their creativity.

During the program, participants experiment with common natural materials to create their own  pigments and dyes and use them to design colorful creations. Along the way, they will gain  insight into basic scientific concepts and develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Two sessions of the Junior Explorers: Natural Dye Lesson will be offered: • Friday, March 27 at 10:00 AM

• Saturday, March 28 at 10:00 AM

Both sessions will take place at the Badgley Annex, located at 148 Fort Road in Schoharie, NY.

The program is recommended for children in 1st through 5th grade (ages 6-10), and older and  younger siblings are welcome to participate. Because activities may be messy, attendees are  encouraged to wear clothing that can be stained.

The cost is $5 per child, and free for members of The Old Stone Fort Museum. Pre-registration is  required.

To register, please email director@theoldstonefort.org with the lesson name, preferred date,  number of children attending, and membership status.

For more information about this and other educational programs, please contact The Old Stone  Fort Museum at (518) 295-7192.
