JEFFERSON — The Jefferson Historical Society invites Town Historians and officers or leaders of local historical societies to a special gathering on Saturday, April 18. This informal meeting will provide a forum to discuss shared opportunities and challenges, including programming, funding, publicity, and more. The meeting will take place in Judd Hall, 163 Main Street, Jefferson.

For those who have not yet visited our museum on the second floor of Judd Hall, it will be open for tours from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Coffee and pastries will be available during that time.

The main program will begin at 10:00 AM, featuring a presentation by Ron Ketelson of the Sharon Historical Society on potential applications of AI for historical organizations, as well as some of the concerns surrounding the use of these technologies. Open discussion will continue until 12:00 PM.

To keep logistics simple and eliminate meeting fees, we ask that attendees bring a sack lunch or pick up a deli sandwich from the convenience store located just three doors down from Judd Hall. Beverages and desserts will be provided.

From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, we will continue discussions on topics chosen by attendees. If you have specific topics you would like addressed, please email them to me in advance.

This announcement is being sent to a primary contact at each local historical society and to Town Historians. Please feel free to share it with fellow officers and active members.

To help us plan for seating and refreshments, kindly RSVP by April 14.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. Working together, we can strengthen each of our historical efforts.
